The fastest-growing niches this month

By ViralVideoSearch Research · Last updated 28 October 2026 · n=6,371 analysed viral videos

Ranked by average velocity percentile — how fast each niche's videos are accelerating relative to the whole platform capture — the current leaders are Gaming Clips, Pets, Tech Reviews. Velocity percentile measures acceleration, not size: a small niche whose videos are gaining views quickly outranks a large one coasting on old hits. Recomputed monthly from our index (n=6,371 analysed videos).

This table ranks the 16 niches we track by their average velocity percentile — the mean of each niche's videos' acceleration scores, where 50 is the platform-wide median. A niche above 50 is accelerating faster than the typical captured video; below 50, slower.

Gaming Clips currently leads at 82. That does not mean it has the biggest videos — its median viral video reaches 3M views — it means its videos are gaining views faster right now than the platform average.

Use this as a timing signal: entering a niche while its velocity percentile is rising means the audience's attention is growing faster than the supply of content. The table recomputes monthly from the live index.

    How to use this

    1. Treat velocity percentile as a timing signal, not a size ranking.
    2. A niche above 60 is accelerating well beyond the platform norm — opportunity if you can produce for it.
    3. Cross-check with the niche's median views: high velocity plus low median means room to grow.
    4. Open the niche report for the full hook, format and pacing breakdown before committing.

    How often is this updated?

Monthly. The aggregates recompute from the live database on a scheduled job, and this page reflects the latest computation without a republish.

    Methodology

    • Dataset: 6,371 short videos our system detected as viral or trending across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, analysed frame by frame between 20 April 2026 and 28 October 2026.
    • Figures are medians within each group; medians resist the outlier skew that distorts averages in view data.
    • Every group states its sample size (n). Groups under 100 videos are flagged as small samples.
    • These are correlations among videos that already went viral in our capture — not a census of all short video, and not a guarantee that any trait causes reach.
    • Recomputed 28 October 2026 from the live index; refreshed monthly.
